Do I need to have a combination reduction and lift for a lifted breast?

Breast reductions (with the exception of breast reductions done through liposuction which are very rarely performed) include a breast lift. Techniques including the Wise pattern breast reduction (the anchor scar) and vertical scar (lollipop) techniques can all be very effective at reducing the size of your breasts. This can improve back and neck pain, rashes and improve the shape of the breasts. All of these techniques also include a lift.

Clinical Context

Breast reduction surgery removes excess breast tissue and skin, and because that tissue is removed, the nipple and areola are repositioned higher on the breast — which is what creates the lift. How much skin needs to be removed depends mainly on breast size and skin elasticity. Larger reductions often use an anchor-shaped incision to remove more skin, while smaller reductions may only need a vertical incision. Your surgeon will recommend the approach that best fits your anatomy and goals.
