How Can Large Veins Under the Eyes Be Treated?
Large veins under the eyes sit in very thin skin with almost no fat padding, so they're visible and, frankly, risky to treat casually. Injecting a sclerosing agent that close to the orbit can cause skin necrosis or, rarely, vision-threatening complications if it tracks into the wrong vessel. Laser treatment (such as a vascular-specific laser) can work for some superficial veins, but the periorbital area demands a very light touch and a provider who does this routinely.
For more prominent or bulging veins, the more durable fix is often surgical: a lower lid blepharoplasty approach allows direct visualization and cauterization or removal of the vein, along with addressing any fat pad contribution that makes the vein appear more prominent.

Surgical removal simply eliminates the vein directly, which is why it's often considered for larger or persistent veins.
