How Long Until the Average Zeltiq Patient Starts to Notice Results?

Results can vary from person to person. While some patients may start seeing results as soon as 3 weeks post-treatment, some may not see full results until 4 months. It takes time for your body to dispose of the fat cells post-treatment, so give it up to 4 months. The process can be slow and subtle, so the difference may not be noticeable initially. Contact your physician if you do not see any results after 4 months, but normally a comparison of before and after photos after that time should show an improvement.

Clinical Context

Cryolipolysis cools fat cells until they break down through a natural process called apoptosis. Over the next several weeks, immune cells called macrophages clear away the damaged fat, sending the byproducts through the lymphatic system for elimination. Because this clearance depends on each person's own biology, the timing of visible slimming varies from patient to patient. This is why some people notice change earlier than others, and why patience is often needed before assessing full results.
