Is It Common to Feel Itchy 5 Days After CoolSculpting (Abdominal Area)?

Itching can be a normal side effect a few days after having done a treatment with CoolSculpting. It is temporary and should resolve over the next few days. In the meantime, you may try applying a topical anti-itch cream or try a non-drowsy antihistamine. If it persists, you should always contact the person who performed your treatment for advice.

Clinical Context

Itching after CoolSculpting is usually mild and comes from the skin's nerves settling down after the cold exposure, similar to how skin can tingle as it warms. This is expected and typically fades on its own within a week or two. If you notice a spreading rash, fever, firm or hardened skin, or worsening pain instead of improvement, contact your treatment provider so they can check for a less common reaction.
