Is It Normal to Have Bumps Behind the Earlobe 3 Weeks Post Op After a Face/Neck Lift?

You may be feeling a suture or bunching or gathering of the skin. Not to worry this usually goes away after a few months. Be sure you stay in close contact with your plastic surgeon.

Clinical Context

Small firm bumps behind the ear after a facelift are common and usually relate to a healing suture, mild swelling, or early scar tissue forming under the incision. This area has thin skin and little padding, so normal healing can feel more noticeable than elsewhere on the face. These bumps typically soften and flatten over weeks to months. Redness, warmth, increasing pain, or drainage are signs to contact your surgeon sooner rather than waiting.
