Medium Plus Profile or High Profile Implants for Breast Reconstruction?
It is a challenging one. The reason it is so hard to answer is there are many unanswered questions - These include: What was the size and shape of the tissue expander? How much was it over inflated? What is the shape and position of your other breast? Are you planning on surgery on the other breast? What is your normal breast diameter? It would be simply a wild guess to provide you numbers without an examination. Sorry we can't provide more information.
Clinical Context
After expander removal, the breast tissue and skin continue to settle for a while before their final shape is clear. Swelling goes down, and the tissue relaxes into its natural drape, which affects how any implant size or profile will look once healed. That's why surgeons usually wait until close to the final fill—and any planned surgery on the other breast—before recommending a specific implant. An exam near that point gives a much more accurate picture than measurements taken earlier in the process.
