Will Cool Sculpting (Zeltiq) Address Skin Laxity?

CoolSculpting is designed to reduce fat. It does not usually create extra skin laxity, nor does it improve preexisting skin laxity. It is always best to get a consultation to determine if you are a good candidate for the treatment and assess your skin laxity in the area of concern.

Clinical Context

Whether CoolSculpting is a good fit often depends on your skin's elasticity, not just how much fat is present. You can get a rough sense yourself: gently pinch the skin over the area — if it springs back quickly, fat reduction alone tends to look good; if it stays loose or crepey, removing fat from underneath can make the skin appear looser rather than tighter. That's why your consultation should look at both fat volume and skin quality before recommending a treatment plan.
