Am I a candidate for Thermiva, or is surgery the best option? I'm 35 and post three vaginal births.

We have had many happy patients with improvement in vaginal tightness after a series of ThermiVa treatments. Patients typically report improvement in sensation as well. In regards to laxity (loose tissue) of the labia minora, I counsel patients that ThermiVa isn't the ideal modality to address this concern. To reduce excess tissue in the labia, many of our patients proceed with labiaplasty and are very happy with the long-lasting results.

Clinical Context

ThermiVa uses gentle radiofrequency heat applied inside and around the vaginal canal to encourage tissue tightening and stimulate new collagen over time. Because collagen remodeling is gradual, results build across a series of sessions rather than appearing immediately. This makes ThermiVa well suited for improving vaginal tightness and sensation. Excess or redundant labial skin is a separate anatomical concern that heat-based treatments aren't designed to correct, which is why labiaplasty remains the more effective surgical option for reducing visible excess labia minora tissue.
