Cosmetic breast surgery can be performed at any point during your menstrual cycle and having your period will not affect the procedure or your final outcome. It is advised to let your surgeon know if you are on your period as part of a complete medical history, but otherwise it should not alter your surgical plan or your result.
Clinical Context
Hormonal shifts before and during your period can cause breast fullness, tenderness, and fluid retention — this is a normal, temporary change in breast tissue. It does not affect anesthesia safety, bleeding risk, or your surgical outcome. If your period overlaps with early recovery, the treated area may simply feel more tender or sensitive for a few days. This fluctuation is too minor to change implant sizing or lift planning, so surgery can proceed as scheduled.
