Forehead Numbness After a Brow Lift Surgery?

It is unusual to have numbness on your forehead 10 months after an endoscopic brow lift. Sometimes the trocars or the dissection can stretch the nerve. These injuries will usually resolve on their own. You may experience a tingling sensation known medically as Tinel’s sign. This can occur as sensory nerves heal and regenerate and are a normal part of the healing process.

Clinical Context

Numbness after a brow lift usually comes from stretching of the small sensory nerves in the forehead during surgery, not from cutting them. These nerves typically heal on their own over the following months. As they regenerate, patients sometimes notice a tingling or 'pins and needles' feeling when the area is tapped or touched — this is called Tinel's sign, and it's a normal part of nerve healing rather than a cause for concern. Full return of sensation can take time and varies from person to person.
