How Long to Wait After Botox Injections to Have Brow Lift?

There's no medical reason you need to wait a long period after Botox before a brow lift; Botox and surgery don't interact chemically. The main reason surgeons sometimes prefer letting Botox wear off first is so they can see your full, unmedicated muscle activity, particularly the corrugator and procerus muscles that create the "11s" between your brows. That lets your surgeon judge how much muscle to weaken or remove during the lift itself, which can reduce or eliminate your need for Botox afterward. Since Botox effects fade over a few months, many surgeons like to see that baseline before finalizing a surgical plan, though it's not an absolute requirement. Discuss timing with your surgeon based on when you last had Botox and how much frown activity you naturally have. A board-certified plastic surgeon can examine your muscle pattern at consultation and tell you whether waiting will change the surgical approach in your case.

Clinical Context

Botox is not a medication that interferes with anesthesia or wound healing, so it doesn't create a safety restriction before surgery. Surgeons sometimes prefer to see your forehead and brow muscles moving naturally, without Botox softening them, so they can plan how much muscle adjustment your lift needs. This is a matter of surgical judgment and preference, not a fixed medical rule, so timing can vary from surgeon to surgeon.
