How Does Dysport Spread in Forehead Without Side Effects?
Dysport can be used interchangeably with Botox with great results. Although it can spread slightly more than Botox, in experienced hands, you shouldn't have much of a problem when trying Dysport for the first time. You may try a conservative treatment and add more with a touch up in 2 weeks if you are concerned with the potential of the product spreading and causing side effects. The products work in the same manner and have all of the same risks and side effects.
Clinical Context
Dysport and Botox are both botulinum toxin type A, but Dysport's formulation tends to spread slightly further from the injection site. This isn't a flaw—it's simply how the product behaves once injected. Experienced injectors account for this by adjusting dosing and injection points, which is why results with either product are typically safe and predictable when performed by a trained provider. Spread patterns are built into the treatment itself, not something that develops unexpectedly afterward.
