How long does it take for Restylane Lyft to set?
Generally speaking, fillers take about 2 weeks to "set" or settle. This is the time for the product to integrate into the tissue and for tissue swelling and bruising to resolve. Part of the initial fullness you see is just the gel drawing in water along with normal post-injection swelling, so the true result isn't obvious right away. Certain areas may have a longer "settling" time such as the tear troughs, since the skin there is thinner and more sensitive to swelling and bruising than fuller areas like the cheeks or jawline.
During this time some mild lumpiness or asymmetry is normal and usually resolves on its own. If you notice increasing pain, unusual firmness, skin discoloration, or any changes concerning to you, contact your treating physician. Hope that helps!
Clinical Context
Restylane Lyft is a hyaluronic acid gel that holds water, so the treated area often looks fuller right after injection from swelling and the gel's own hydration. Over the next one to two weeks, swelling and bruising resolve and the gel settles into place, giving a clearer sense of the final result. Areas with thinner skin, like the tear trough, can take a bit longer to look fully settled than fuller areas such as the cheeks or jawline.
