How many laser treatments are needed for mans face?

Most men will need about 8 to 12 sessions to achieve permanent reduction of facial hair, which tends to be thicker and denser than hair on other parts of the body. These treatments are normally 4-6 weeks apart, but can be longer depending on hair type and provider preference.

Clinical Context

Facial hair removal differs from body treatments in a few ways. Beard hair is thicker and often grows in a curved pattern, which can make ingrown hairs more likely between sessions. Men with darker or tanned skin have a higher chance of temporary pigment changes, because the laser targets melanin and can have a harder time telling hair color apart from skin color. For these reasons, your provider may adjust laser settings and spacing based on your skin tone and hair pattern rather than a one-size-fits-all schedule.
