I wanted cheek fillers but instead I got Dysport in my platysma bands. Why?
Cheek fillers and Dysport in the platysma bands treat two completely different problems, so it sounds like there was a miscommunication about your treatment plan rather than a substitution of one for the other. Dysport relaxes the platysma, the thin muscle running down the front of the neck, which reduces the vertical banding you see when you tense your neck or smile. It does nothing to add volume to the cheeks. Filler works differently, adding volume to restore contour in the midface and soften nasolabial folds. Neither product can substitute for the other because they work on different structures for different aesthetic goals.
