If Thermiva results have faded within 1 week of first treatment, is it worth getting the 2nd & 3rd treatment?
It's normal for the initial tightening you feel right after a ThermiVa session to fade within a week. That first effect comes from the heat's immediate impact on tissue, but the longer lasting change comes from new collagen and elastin formation, and that takes weeks to build. It also doesn't peak until you've completed the full series.
We believe that following the 3-treatment protocol will provide the best outcome and a longer duration of treatment results. Because of evidence based research, we recommend 3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart for your best results. Each session builds on the one before it, so judging results after only one treatment doesn't give the collagen remodeling process time to work. If you notice pain, irritation, or no improvement at all after the full series, that's worth discussing with us at a follow up visit.
Clinical Context
Fading a week after one ThermiVa session is expected, not a sign of failure. Early tissue tightening from the treatment itself can subside quickly, while the deeper change—new collagen and elastin formation—takes several weeks to develop and doesn't peak until after the full series. The three-session protocol, spaced roughly a month apart, exists because each treatment builds on the last, allowing cumulative improvement to accumulate before results are judged.
