Laser Hair Removal Safe Around Areola?
Laser hair removal (especially Nd — Yag) is great for removing darker hair from around the areola with just a few treatments. The sensitivity of the area can be treated with some topical numbing cream to make the treatment less uncomfortable. Find a practice overseen by a board certifed plastic surgeon.
Clinical Context
The areola is often more pigmented than the surrounding chest skin, which is one reason longer wavelengths like Nd: YAG are typically chosen — they target hair pigment while limiting risk to the skin around it.
