Is There a Non Surgical Breast Reduction?
There is currently no reliable non-surgical method of breast reduction. The other surgeons have correctly mentioned that liposuction in some patients, may be an alternative to traditional excisional breast reductions - but make no mistake - liposuction is still considered
surgery!
If the symptoms from large breasts are really bothering you but after a discussion with your plastic surgeon you're not ready to commit to surgery you can try some of the following: Weight loss - this can improve the heaviness of the breasts More supportive undergarments - the right bra can make a difference in back pain and shoulder grooving associated with large breasts.
Physical therapy - physical therapy can help with neck and back pain.
Clinical Context
Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin to achieve a breast size more proportional to the body. Beyond cosmetic improvement, breast reduction frequently resolves physical symptoms including chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain. Many insurance plans cover breast reduction when medical necessity criteria are met.
When evaluating any cosmetic procedure, choosing a surgeon who operates in an accredited surgical facility is one of the most important safety decisions a patient can make.
