Is There an over the Counter Med I Can Take to Help Reduce Swelling After Filler Injections?

Swelling will normally resolve over time on its own. No medication can significantly speed up the process. Some people will recommend homeopathic remedies such as arnica montana and/or bromelain which may or may not be helpful. Applying cold packs and head elevation may help as well. Definitely be careful when applying cold packs and do not apply them directly on the skin to avoid frost bite.

Clinical Context

Cold packs work by narrowing blood vessels near the skin, which limits fluid buildup and bruising after filler injections. Elevating your head has a similar effect, using gravity to reduce pooling. Arnica and bromelain are popular natural remedies, but there isn't strong evidence they reduce swelling from fillers specifically—most research on them looks at bruising after surgery, not injectable treatments. If you use ice, wrap it and keep it moving so it doesn't sit directly on the skin.
