It is possible to have adverse reactions to Dysport weeks after first injection?
True reactions to Dysport almost always show up early, within the first few days, since that's when the neurotoxin is most active at the injection site (drooping lid, headache, local swelling). The effect typically builds over the first one to two weeks and then stays fairly steady before gradually wearing off over the following months. So symptoms surfacing weeks after treatment are less likely to be a direct reaction to the Dysport itself and more likely coincidental, something else going on that happens to overlap with your treatment timeline. That said, without knowing what your specific symptoms are, I can't rule things out with confidence. Delayed immune-type reactions to botulinum toxins are uncommon but reported. If you're having new or worsening symptoms, get evaluated in person rather than assuming it's the Dysport. A board-certified plastic surgeon or your injector can look at the pattern and timeline and figure out what's actually going on.
Clinical Context
Dysport's effects typically build over the first one to two weeks and last a few months before gradually wearing off. New symptoms appearing weeks later are usually unrelated to the injection itself, since the drug is still active in that window. Rare exceptions include the body building antibodies against the toxin, which usually shows up as the treatment not working as well next time, not as new side effects. If something feels off, have it checked rather than guessing.
