One Size Bigger on One Breast for Addressing Asymmetry?
Typically as part of breast augmentation asymmetry and techniques to correct it are discussed. Everyone has some degree of uneveness between the two breasts. Things that can correct this asymmetry during breast augmentation include: 1. Different sized implants 2. Different shaped implants 3. Different positioning of the implants 4. Clinical Context
Breast asymmetry is common and usually comes from differences in rib shape, breast tissue volume, or muscle position rather than the implants themselves. During surgery, surgeons tailor implant size, shape, and pocket placement to each side's anatomy to help balance the result. In the early weeks after surgery, swelling and healing often progress unevenly, so one side may look different from the other temporarily. It usually takes a few months for swelling to fully settle and the final shape to appear.
