Resuming Normal Routines After Botox and Juvederm injections?
Can I resume normal rountines such as exercising and riding motorcycle, after having Botox and Juvederm injections?
Resuming Exercise and Activities After Injectables
Thanks for your question - Anytime strenuous activity happens after a procedure there is an increased risk of bleeding. The timing of when a patient can resume activities is dependent on the procedure and the techniques used during surgery. These are issues best discussed with your treating plastic surgeon. Generally, injectables have a low incidence of post-procedure bleeding. In our San Francisco area office we advise patients to not engage in strenuous activity for 48 hours after Botox or injectables. I hope this helps.
Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved neuromodulator that temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles to reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. It works by blocking the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction. Results typically appear within 3–7 days and last 3–4 months, though some patients report longer duration with consistent treatment. Common treatment areas include the glabella (frown lines), forehead, and lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet). Dosing is measured in units and varies by treatment area and muscle mass.
Board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery requires years of specialized surgical training beyond medical school and residency.
