ThermiVa: How Long Do The Results Last?

ThermiVa uses radiofrequency to deliver heat into the female genital region in a comfortable non-surgical manner. The radio frequency energy causes tissue tightening and collagen remodeling. This causes increased blood flow, increased sensitivity, increased tissue tightening, and improved moisture balance. The outer genital region benefits when the tissues are tightened. Externally we have found about 6 months of improvement. Internally our patients report improvements that last for about 12-18 months. Not too bad for a 30 minute treatment.

Clinical Context

ThermiVa works by gently heating vaginal and vulvar tissue with radiofrequency energy, stimulating the body's own collagen production. This process happens gradually over the weeks following treatment, which is why results build over time rather than appearing immediately. Factors like hormonal changes, childbirth, and individual tissue characteristics can affect how long improvements last. Because the treatment doesn't permanently alter tissue structure, many patients choose periodic touch-up sessions to maintain their results long-term.
