Twitching and Jerking Post-Tummy Tuck surgery

After having Tummy Tuck surgery, I am having twitching and jerking in my arms hands and legs. Is this normal? Could this be tissue damage?

Unusual post-op symptom

Tissue damage for abdominoplasty would typically be limited to the operated area. This could include skin, muscle, fascia and possible in extreme cases even internal organs. It would be highly unusual for any of that to affect your muscles or neurologic system. This may be a more systemic effect from a medication you are taking. You should inform your treating surgeon immediately. I hope this helps.

Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and repairs separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti), which commonly occurs after pregnancy or significant weight loss. The procedure involves an incision from hip to hip, typically placed low enough to be hidden by underwear or a bikini.

Selecting a board-certified plastic surgeon who is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons ensures your surgeon has met the highest professional standards.
