Unevely Injection Restylane in Nasolabial Folds, What Should I Do?

First and foremost, any time you have a concern about a recent procedure you should let your provider know. We advise all patients to wait at least two weeks after injection to allow adequate time for swelling to subside. Generally minor asymmetries subside on their own as swelling resolves but in some cases additional filler may be required. For the highest level of experience and care visit the office of a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Clinical Context

After filler, some swelling or bruising can make nasolabial folds look uneven at first, and this usually settles within two weeks. Your surgeon will look at photos from different angles, gently feel where the product has settled, and watch your face move to tell whether what you're seeing is residual swelling, uneven placement, or asymmetry that was there before treatment. This helps decide whether to wait, dissolve the filler with hyaluronidase, or add a bit more to even things out.
