When can I wax and pluck after laser hair removal treatment?

You should not wax or pluck in between laser hair removal sessions because it removes the follicle, leaving nothing for the lasers to target. Once you have completed the full course of laser hair removal sessions, we advise to wait a few days before waxing or plucking if you have any stray hairs.

Clinical Context

The biggest misunderstanding here is thinking waxing and plucking are just alternate ways to remove hair, so they're fine anytime between sessions. In reality, both methods pull the hair shaft out of the follicle, and that shaft is exactly what the laser needs to target and destroy. Shaving is fine because it leaves the follicle intact below the skin. Waxing or plucking should be avoided for several weeks before and after treatment so the follicle has something for the laser to act on.
