When Can You Exercise After Getting Dysport?

We usually recommend that our patients do not lie down for 4 hours and do not exercise or do any vigorous activities for 12 hours after their injections to prevent migration of the product. Although it has not been proven to have negative effects if you do not follow these instructions, it can be worthwhile to minimize any possible complications.

Clinical Context

Dysport binds to nerve endings over the first few hours after injection. Until then, increased blood flow or muscle movement from exercise could theoretically encourage the product to spread beyond the treated area, potentially affecting nearby muscles like those controlling the eyelid or brow. This risk is low, but it's simple to avoid by resting and skipping strenuous activity for the recommended window after treatment.
