When Will Right Implant Settle After Breast Augmentation and Lift?

I am 3 1/2 months post op from a breast lift and augmentation surgery. My left breast is wonderful but my right breast is still very high. I've been massaging but that doesn't seem to make any difference. When should I start getting concerned?

Breast Asymmetry

Thanks for the question - It is difficult to say with 100% certainty but the fact that one implant has settled well and the other has not does raise some concerns. In addition, the majority of the swelling and settling should be resolved by 4 months. I would have a conversation with your plastic surgeon. I hope this helps.

Breast augmentation is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures in the United States, with over 300,000 procedures annually. Modern breast implants are available in saline and silicone gel formulations, in round and anatomic (teardrop) shapes. Implant placement can be subglandular (over the muscle) or submuscular (partially or fully under the pectoralis muscle).

Board certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery requires years of specialized surgical training beyond medical school and residency.
