Botox for neck bands?

Mild platysmal bands in the neck will likely respond well to Botox or dysport treatment. The treatment, also know as the "Nefertiti Neck Lift", will reduce the activity of the muscle fibers pulling down on your upper neck/jawline to improve the contour. It is an off-label treatment area so I encourage you to find an experienced injector for your consultation and treatment.

Clinical Context

The platysma lies just beneath the skin, so injections for neck banding are shallower than those used for stronger muscles like the masseter. If the product is placed too deep, it can reach nearby neck muscles and occasionally cause a heavy or strained feeling when swallowing. Because this use is off-label, dosing isn't as standardized as it is for frown lines, so experience with this specific technique matters. Results usually last three to four months, similar to other Botox treatments.
