Can Botox be used to fix a lower droopy eyelids?

Botox paralyzes/weakens muscles and sometimes a droopy lid can be an adverse effect of Botox in the wrong muscle. Botox could make it worse. A blepharoplasty may be a better option for you. It would be best to consult with an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon to discuss options to improve the symmetry between the lids.

Clinical Context

Lower eyelid position depends on muscle tone, skin elasticity, and underlying fat, so drooping can result from several different causes. Botox works by relaxing muscle, so if the drooping comes from loose skin or fat prolapse instead of muscle overactivity, adding Botox may pull the lid down further rather than lifting it. A qualified evaluation in person is needed to determine which factor is contributing to your specific appearance before recommending any treatment.
