Can eyebrows be lowered? Can Botox be used?

Yes, Botox can lower brows that sit too high, not just lift them. The frontalis muscle runs up the forehead and pulls the brows upward; if it's overactive, the brows can look elevated or surprised. Placing Botox in the frontalis lets the brows settle into a more natural, relaxed position. The opposite effect, an arched lift to the tail of the brow, comes from treating the muscles that pull brows down, like the lateral orbicularis oculi, so the frontalis has less resistance and the brow tail rides up. It's really about balancing the muscles that raise the brow against the ones that lower it, and dosing accordingly.

I can't evaluate your specific brow position from a description alone. An in-person exam, ideally with photos reviewed at consultation, lets your surgeon map your muscle activity and tailor injection points. See a board-certified plastic surgeon or experienced injector for the most predictable result.

Clinical Context

Brow height depends on more than muscle activity. Skin and soft-tissue laxity along the forehead can make brows sit lower or heavier as collagen declines with age, even if the muscles are normal or overactive. This is why the same Botox dose can look different on different faces — someone with looser skin may need a lighter dose to avoid heaviness, while tighter skin tolerates fuller muscle relaxation without the brow dropping too far.
