Can Radiesse Cause Lumps Inside Cheeks?

With filler injected into your cheeks, you may feel some palpable lumps due to the product being present. As long as the lumps are not visible, then it usually shouldn't be a problem and it will dissipate over time as the product breaks down. If it is something that is causing you concern, you should follow up with your injector to be evaluated.

Clinical Context

Small bumps after Radiesse are common, especially in thinner cheek skin, and usually mean the product is settling before it fully integrates with tissue. These typically soften and smooth out with gentle massage or time as the calcium hydroxylapatite gradually breaks down. True granulomas, which are a rare inflammatory reaction to filler, tend to show up much later and don't improve with massage. Any firm area that doesn't resolve or feels tender should be checked by your injector.
