Radiesse for Sunken Eyes?

Radiesse is much thicker than most fillers and is white in color. It should not be injected under the eyes because the skin there is so thin that the product can leave visible lumps and bumps which are extremely hard to correct. Radiesse is more appropriate for a cheek augmentation or injection at the nasolabial folds.

Clinical Context

Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel carrier. Over several months, the body forms collagen around these particles, which is why results last longer and feel firmer than hyaluronic acid fillers. That firmness is helpful in areas with thicker tissue, like the cheeks, but under the eyes the skin is very thin and delicate, so any unevenness in placement is more likely to be visible and harder to smooth out.
