Fat Transfer procedure on Feet Surface?
Fat transfer for the feet has become increasingly popular in recent years. In my Dublin practice we perform this procedure (though much more commonly to the hands). In the hands of an experienced practitioner, transfer to the feet should be able to produce the same results.
Clinical Context
The sole of the foot is different from the face or hands. Its skin is thick and firmly anchored to the tissue below by fibrous bands that create small, tightly packed fat compartments, allowing the foot to withstand repeated pressure from walking and standing. Because of this structure, transferred fat may settle and behave differently on the sole than in softer areas like the face or hands, even with the same technique.
