Filler Under my Eyes After a Blepharoplasty and Laser Surgery?
Filler can be a reasonable option under the eyes after blepharoplasty and laser resurfacing, but timing and technique matter. The skin and tissue in that area are thin and still remodeling after surgery, especially after laser treatment, which can take a full year to fully settle. Placing filler too early or too superficially can create lumps, a bluish discoloration (the Tyndall effect), or make hollows and shadows look worse rather than better. If you're seeing residual hollowing or an uneven contour, a small amount of hyaluronic acid filler placed deep, along the bone, by someone experienced with periorbital anatomy is usually safer than more surgery.
Before any additional treatment, make sure you've given your original procedures adequate time to heal. If revision surgery is being considered, avoid Botox in the area beforehand, since it can mask muscle imbalances that need to be addressed at the time of correction. This is delicate territory, best evaluated in person by a board-certified plastic surgeon or oculoplastic surgeon.
Clinical Context
After blepharoplasty and laser resurfacing, under-eye puffiness or hollowing can come from different causes: lingering post-surgical swelling, incomplete fat removal, or skin still tightening from the laser.
