Had Botox Aug 2nd one month ago 40 units just found out I am pregnant will this hurt my baby?

There isn't any good data that shows Botox has any effect on pregnancy. Typically, injectors will advise against elective cosmetic procedures during pregnancy to eliminate the risk but likely the risk is small, if any at all. Botox is a locally acting agent and lasts about 3-4 months but in rare instances, some patients have noticed more systemic reactions that may or may not be related to the botulinum protein itself. Follow up with your OB if you have additional concerns.

Clinical Context

Finding out you're pregnant a month after a Botox appointment doesn't mean harm occurred—the key issue is timing and dose relative to when conception likely happened, since injections given before or around conception involve different exposure considerations than ones given later in pregnancy. Botox stays largely localized at the injection site, with minimal amounts thought to enter circulation at typical cosmetic doses. Still, pregnancy hasn't been studied directly, so bring the exact date and dose to your OB for personalized reassurance.
