Help! Too Much Restylane in my Nasolabial Folds

Swelling after having a Restylane treatment is very common, especially within the first few days. It can continue to reduce in swelling over the next couple of weeks. It is fine to massage the area, but over time, the swelling should subside on its own and the area should look less full. If you still do not like the look after allowing ample time for the swelling to subside, see your injector. There are ways to dissolve the filler with hyaluronidase, but normally this is not necessary.

Clinical Context

True overcorrection tends to feel firm and look full and even, while normal post-injection swelling is softer, may be uneven, and can shift day to day before settling. A separate issue, the Tyndall effect, is a bluish tint that appears when filler sits close to the skin's surface — this isn't about volume and is treated differently than either swelling or overcorrection. Your injector can tell which one you're dealing with.
