How do I know if I'm rubbing my forehead too hard after Botox? I'm so worried when I wash my face/moisturize about moving things

Generally, I advise patients not to massage the treatment area for 24 hours after the procedure to minimize risk of product spread. It is fine to wash your face and use moisturizer/products but to apply them gently. Botox takes 2 weeks for the final result. I recommend you to wait until then to determine whether any heaviness has resolved. If the heaviness is getting worse and you can see an obvious brow or lid droop, I would advise you to follow up with your injector sooner.

Clinical Context

Most of this worry comes from a common mix-up: people assume any facial pressure can shift Botox, when the real risk window is much narrower. Migration is only a theoretical concern in the first few hours after injection, before the product binds to the muscle. Light washing or moisturizing with your fingertips, not pressing or massaging, is very unlikely to move anything. Once that early window passes, normal skincare touch has no meaningful effect on your results.
