How Long Does Botox Last?

Botox usually lasts about 3-4 months for most people. Depending on how strong your muscle movement is and how fast your body metabolizes the product, your results may vary. Some people even report Botox lasting 5-6 months.

Most people start noticing softened lines within a few days, with full effect by about two weeks. The wearing-off process is gradual rather than sudden, since nerve endings slowly regrow and reconnect with the muscle, so expression returns bit by bit instead of all at once. If you come in for a touch-up before movement fully returns, results tend to stay more even over time. If you notice uneven results, drooping, or effects lasting much shorter than expected, it's worth mentioning at your next visit so we can adjust your treatment plan.

Clinical Context

Most people notice softened lines within a few days, full effect by about two weeks, and gradual return of movement starting around the ten to twelve week mark. The fade is rarely sudden—expressions slowly regain strength as nerve endings regrow and reconnect with the muscle, which is why the smoothing effect wears off rather than stops abruptly. Repeat treatments before movement fully returns tend to sustain results more evenly over time.
