How long does bruising and swelling last after using Voluma?
Bruising after injections is normal and can vary in severity. Definitely discuss your concerns with your injector, icing and head elevation can help improve symptoms. Arnica and bromelain can sometimes help with swelling and bruising as well. When icing, do not apply ice directly to skin to avoid ice burns. Depending on the amount of bruising and swelling, it normally improves in 1-2 weeks and you may use makeup to conceal the bruising.
Clinical Context
Voluma is a thicker filler often used to add volume and lift in the cheeks. Because it's denser, it may be placed with a needle or cannula, and bruising can occur if a small vessel is affected during injection. Swelling and bruising vary from person to person and depend on individual healing, injection technique, and the area treated. Most patients see steady improvement within one to two weeks, and gentle icing can help reduce discomfort.
