How soon can I get a Botox touch up?

Typically, the best time to touch up is at the 2 week mark when botox/dysport has its peak results. Touching up too soon can result in over treatment and possibly a feeling of "heaviness" if the forehead is treated. It's difficult to know whether your concern is regarding "eyelid droop" or "brow droop." Depending on what is the problem, additional units may or may not be the next course of action. As always, it's recommended to see a board-certified injector.

Clinical Context

Botox blocks the nerve signal that tells a muscle to contract. This effect builds gradually — it takes about a week to start working and up to two weeks to reach full strength, which is why touch-ups are best done at that point rather than sooner. Over the next three to four months, the nerve regains its ability to trigger the muscle, so the effect gradually wears off and another treatment becomes appropriate.
