How Soon Can I Get Another Round of Restylane Injected into Lips?
I had 0.5mL of Restylane injected in my small lips 4 days ago. It was my first time doing anything of the sort and I wanted to be "conservative" about it. The swelling seemed to be gone by the end of the day following my injections and now 4 days later, I see/feel some change but not as much as I'd hoped. Is it safe to get more so soon? If so, how soon can I do it?
Wait 7-10 Days Before Injecting Additional Restylane
Generally speaking 0.5mL of Restylane is a conservative amount and a good volume to start with for lip augmentation. Lips are always swollen for several days to a week after treatment. Some patients get used to the swollen volume and end up wanting more product when the swelling subsides. In our San Francisco Bay Area practice we typically have patients wait seven to ten days before injecting additional Restylane to allow ample time for the swelling to resolve.
Restylane is a family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers produced by Galderma using NASHA technology. The product line includes Restylane-L for lips and facial wrinkles, Lyft for cheeks and hands, Refyne and Defyne for nasolabial folds and marionette lines, and Kysse for lip augmentation. Each formulation has specific gel properties optimized for different tissue depths and treatment areas.
