I received Restylane injections Friday (2 days ago) had some mild swelling and now I feel like my lips look the same as before?

The first question to ask is how much restylane was used? Swelling after lip injections is very common and usually subsides in a few days if there isn't any significant bruising. It does look similar apart from the vermilion border, which looks more defined. It's difficult to assess completely with only a 2D frontal view. Occasionally, there are some patients that are fast metabolizers and break down the product quicker but 2 days is unusual. Most likely you need more product. I would encourage you to follow up with your injector to discuss the next step.

Clinical Context

Hyaluronic acid fillers are hygroscopic, meaning they attract and hold water, so how lips look in the first few days after injection isn't the final result. Swelling and the product still integrating with surrounding tissue both affect early appearance. Most swelling resolves within one to two weeks, at which point the true result becomes clear. If your lips still look unchanged after that window, checking in with your injector is a reasonable next step.
