If I get Botox in the crow's feet area will that help with under eye wrinkles?
Generally, treatment of the "crows feet" is the smile lines that form at the outer corners of your eyes. Sometimes these lines can extend down to the upper cheek if the muscles are very strong or the skin is lax. It does not address wrinkles directly below your eyes. You can try a small amount of product there to help soften undereye wrinkles but it is considered an off-label area so I recommend seeing a board-certified injector with experience. As far as the skin looking worse or deformed once stopping treatment, that's not necessarily true since Botox helps to prevent the deepening of wrinkles/lines; however, you may notice the skin "appears worse" if you get used to seeing what the area looks like with Botox and then it looks "worse" when the product wears off.
Clinical Context
Expect a two-stage timeline: crow's feet smoothing shows up within a few days and settles by around two weeks, but any spillover softening of under-eye wrinkles often lags behind and stays partial. That's because relaxing the outer eye muscle only indirectly affects the thinner skin below the eye, where lines are shaped more by skin quality and volume than muscle movement. If under-eye lines are the main concern, ask about direct off-label treatment there, since crow's feet injections alone may not deliver noticeable change underneath.
