Is Botox for Sweating Permanent or Will I Have to Have Routine Injections, As is the Case for Wrinkles?
How long does a botox treatment last for heavy perspiration?
Botox for Excessive Sweating Length of Effect
Thank you for your question. Effects of injectable botulinium toxin (Botox or Dysport), no matter where they are injected, are temporary and routine injections are required to maintain desired results. Botox and Dysport work by disrupting the communication between nerves and sweat glands and as the toxins are metabolized by the body the results slowly wear off. Generally speaking, these results last four to six months, however some individuals may experience length of effects that are slightly shorter or longer. In our San Francisco Bay Area practice we have a large volume of patients recieving Botox and Dysport with high statisfaction and return rates. For the best results, visit the office of a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. I hope this helps.
Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved neuromodulator that temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles to reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. It works by blocking the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction. Results typically appear within 3–7 days and last 3–4 months, though some patients report longer duration with consistent treatment. Common treatment areas include the glabella (frown lines), forehead, and lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet). Dosing is measured in units and varies by treatment area and muscle mass.
Selecting a board-certified plastic surgeon who is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons ensures your surgeon has met the highest professional standards.
