Is Botox Good only for Certain Face Wrinkles and Lines?

Does Botox injection work on all facial lines and furrows?

Botox use limited to certain wrinkles

Quick Answer: Botox CANNOT be used to correct all facial wrinkles and lines. Thank you for your question. In our San Francisco area practice we frequently use Botox as an effective way to soften the appearance of many wrinkles on the face. Botox works to correct wrinkles that are a result of muscle activity and not all wrinkles are caused by muscle activity. Most commonly the wrinkles between the eyebrows, on the forehead and the outer portion of the eyes (crow’s feet) are treated effectively with Botox, but Botox is not limited to these areas. An example of a line not caused by muscle movement, and therefore not treated effectively with Botox are the lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth (nasolabial folds). These lines are caused by fat in the cheeks decreasing and/or shifting and are corrected with products that create volume such as fillers (ex. Restlyane, Juvederm, Sculptra) or fat injections. I hope this helps.
