Is it normal that Botox is not taken on one side after a top up?

Botox can take up to 2 weeks for full results. Even touch ups take effect at slightly different rates depending on the muscle strength. Although less common, if you happened to get a bruise or the botox was injected into a vessel accidentally, you may not have much improvement on that side. As always, follow up with your injector for re-evaluation at 2 weeks.

Clinical Context

Botox results build gradually and can take up to two weeks to fully appear. Because muscle strength differs from side to side, one area may look less relaxed after a touch-up even when dosed for symmetry. This is usually a timing issue rather than a sign the treatment failed. If one side still moves noticeably more than the other after two weeks, your injector can add a small corrective dose to balance the result.
