Is it possible to be Immune to Botox & Dysport?

Yes, it is possible. However it is extremely rare to be immune to neurotoxins like Botox and Dysport. The most common reason causing unresponsiveness is undertreating.

Neurotoxins work by blocking the nerve signal to the muscle, and results build gradually, often over one to two weeks, so checking too early can make it seem like nothing happened. Before assuming true resistance, a provider should compare your muscle movement to before-treatment photos and review the dose and injection sites used. True antibody-related resistance is uncommon and is usually managed by switching to a different neurotoxin brand. I would get another opinion from an experienced aesthetic provider if you feel you are not responding as expected.

Clinical Context

If a neurotoxin seems not to work, the usual cause is dosing or placement rather than true immunity. Results build gradually, often over one to two weeks, so early follow-up can be misleading. A provider will compare your muscle movement to before-treatment photos and review where and how much was injected before considering rarer causes like antibody resistance, which is uncommon and typically addressed by trying a different neurotoxin brand.
