Juvederm or Voluma in cheeks to reduce smile lines?

Voluma is a great filler for volume and lift at the cheeks that can last up to 2 years. It can help give some lift to soften the nasolabial folds as well as give you a youthful & more voluminous look at your cheeks. It may not completely soften the nasolabial fold depending on how strong it is. You may also have Juvederm injected directly to your nasolabial folds if the improvement with the Voluma is not as significant as you would like it to be. Voluma normally requires at least 2 syringes at the cheeks. It is always best to have a consultation to determine if you are a good candidate and which products will best address your concerns.

Clinical Context

Voluma and Juvederm are both hyaluronic acid gels, but they're used differently. Voluma is thicker and denser, designed to rebuild cheekbone volume and lift the mid-face. As the cheek gains projection, this can indirectly soften nasolabial folds. Juvederm is softer and often injected directly into the fold itself for more targeted correction. Many patients benefit from combining both: Voluma restores cheek structure, while Juvederm refines the remaining line for a more complete result.
