You can certainly have a tummy tuck after liposuction but you're going to want to give yourself more time to heal and get the full benefit of the liposuction (this is usually at least 6 months). In addition - liposuction won't fix stretch marks. Stretch marks are tears in the deeper layer of the dermis and is typically a sign that there is decreased elasticity of the affected skin. This is crucial because you're counting on the skin tightening after liposuction. In patients with poor skin elasticity abdominal liposuction can actually make things look worse (more empty folds of skin).
Clinical Context
After liposuction, the skin and underlying tissue need time to heal and reattach before a surgeon can accurately judge how well they'll retract. Swelling in the early months can hide true skin quality, making it hard to plan a tummy tuck accurately too soon. Waiting also allows any residual firmness or unevenness from liposuction to resolve, so the surgeon can plan incision placement and skin removal based on your body's true, settled contour rather than a temporary post-surgical state.
